My name is Benedita, and I just want to share with you a bit of my Aliyah story.
I lived in Campinas, São Paulo. I have always maintained my ties with the local community, and this has led me to seek the opportunity to return to Israel through Aliyah for a long time. My son was the first to make Aliyah some years ago, and he greatly encouraged me to follow the same path. My daughter, who lives with me, has also helped me a lot in this process and will soon be making Aliyah as well.
We know that Brazil, and especially the place where we live, is good, but compared to Israel, we can live with much more security and enjoy the freedom to practice our faith. I still have dreams that can only be fulfilled there, and this fills me with hope and many expectations when I think about the future. The language may be a challenge, but we must face it. I know this will be very good for me.
Now, being close to my son and his family, I hope that soon my daughter and my grandson, who are still in Brazil, will be able to join us. I want to thank Ezra Brazil for their support, which has helped me so much and so many families over the years, both here in São Paulo and throughout Brazil and in other countries where they are present. The process of Aliyah can be a very costly process, as well as emotionally draining, bureaucratic and at times so exhausting. May they continue this wonderful work of assisting families in need, as they have assisted us too.
Yes! I am ready to live in Harish, Israel, for this new stage of my life.
