My name is Sergio. I am married. I was born and raised in São Paulo- SP, Brazil.

I spent some time in the United States and then returned, thinking that with the experience I gained there it would reflect well here. But it didn’t reflect. I tried several situations from new areas of work, such as being a micro-entrepreneur, which I was also unsuccessful with.

The pandemic came and nothing went back to normal. Neither jobs, nor commerce, nor in the service area that I was betting on. I thought about going back to America, but the job market wasn’t favorable there either.

That’s when a friend shared his experience of making aliyah, and in Israel it was fine, and right on target!

 This motivated me a lot and I felt challenged to make aliyah too. I could imagine myself and my family in a new and great chance to start over, with a unique opportunity to hit the target. Israel caught my attention due to the strength of being a new country, but with first-world status in terms of security and quality of life.

My hope and dream were being fueled by all of this, as here in Brazil I was very discouraged and unmotivated. I started the process and came across several barriers. Many documents that had an expiration date. Other than that, I had to go through the process with the Jewish Agency and the Consulate, because my parents were considered Israeli. Practically all documents were created in duplicate. Furthermore, because I lived in the United States for more than a year, I had to request my criminal record certificate from the FBI. What difficulty! Even all my documents had to be translated and sworn. I panicked and almost gave up.

I had to overcome my pride and open up to this friend who motivated me to make aliyah. That’s when he told me to seek help from Ezra Brasil.

I was very well guided and supported in the financial aspect. All my needs were met and I managed to deliver all the documents required by the Jewish Agency and the Israeli Consulate.

And even if I used all the words, I wouldn’t be able to thank and recognize the difference made in my life and that of my family forever! I hope you continue to carry out this mission for all families like mine, which was achieved at the right time, and is of incomparable relevance!!!!
