“Aliyah: Building a Life with Hope and Courage”

My name is IONATHAN H. I was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, RJ, Brazil. For some time now, I have had the dream of making Aliyah and, in Israel, fulfilling dreams that here would be impossible—or at least much more difficult. Studying, working, building a family, and having a dignified and just life. After all, depending on the country’s economy is extremely risky. Relying on Brazil’s financial situation also directly affects our personal lives, and thinking about our political management is a nightmare.

I am really looking forward to live In Israel, I hope to achieve what I could achieve here, and more, but in a shorter period of time, with greater security and better prospects.

Of course it is hard to leave family and friends in Brazil, and honestly, this has also been a very big challenge for me. But we must move forward and adapt with gratitude to what is being offered to us. Israel offers security in every sense, unlike Brazil, where we are afraid to invest, and where many plans dissolve along with many dreams. This can be very frustrating at times.

I am grateful to Ezra Brazil for the support from the very first contact. Without this help, everything would have been much more difficult. I hope you continue to support the families of our community here in Rio de Janeiro and throughout Brazil. I will be living in Haifa, in the north of Israel.
